HOT TUB ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Northern Hot Tubs are made for Canada, which means several things above and beyond hot tub energy efficiency. The hot tub structure is the sturdiest that you will find. It starts with a fully weatherproof base made from fibreglass and ABS. The base is the barrier between the ground and the hot tub, making it a permanent barrier for its life. Next, a stainless-steel frame is custom fabricated to support the shell and mount the operating equipment. The stainless steel is heavy-duty and will last for life. A three-stage acrylic shell is precision-made using an acrylic surface that is backed with a unique blend of fibreglass and resins. The base, frame and shell combination constitute the basis for our well-built hot tubs, and you will be hard-pressed to find anything like it for the hot tub prices that we offer on the market.

THE HOT TUB HEATER USES THE MOST POWER

Hot tub energy efficiency is achieved by making the hot tub retain heat, resulting in the heater coming on less often. The hot tub heater is the component that uses the most energy, so the less it comes on, the less power the hot tub uses. Northern Hot Tubs uses a five-part insulation system to retain heat and keep energy costs minimum. Heat rises, making the need for a well-made hardcover paramount for hot tub energy efficiency. Our hot tubs for sale come with a snug-fitting 4” Nordic hardcover that includes a bumper seal down the middle to further aid in keeping the heat, as well as straps to lock the cover down and keep it tight against the top of the hot tub shell. Next, an insulating barrier is installed between the base and the hot tub shell and cavity to prevent the cold ground from drawing heat out of the hot tub.

INSULATION GREATLY IMPACTS HOT TUB ENERGY EFFICIENCY

The hot tub shell is sprayed with high-density polyurethane insulation while being mindful not to cover the jets. Although hot tub energy efficiency is improved by spraying the jets, it makes the jet unserviceable if hot tubs are fully spray foam insulated. We want to be able to address any issues should they arise quickly. Each water pipe is then individually insulated with a fully removable insulating sleeve. This dramatically improves hot tub energy efficiency and makes any future servicing a breeze. A synthetic cabinet frame is fitted around the perimeter of the hot tub, and tight-fitting removable panels are attached to the frame. This is another barrier to keep the cold out and the warm in with the added benefit of being removable should and if you require. As a bonus, the hot tub pump runs warm. Because it is within the cavity between the shell and the cabinet, the excess heat is captured to help keep the hot tub warm, creating outstanding hot tub energy efficiency for you and your family to enjoy.
